MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- On Halloween, Dinosaur George kicks off his week-long exhibit by offering a safe and fun place for children to trick-or-treat while learning about some of the oldest prehistoric creatures on earth. The Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand will hold their annual party at the Dinosaur George exhibit on October 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Exhibit Rooms EH B. The first 50 school-aged youth to register will receive free admission to the Dinosaur George exhibit and the special Halloween party. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information please call the Boys & Girls Club at 843-445-9964.

The exhibit, one of the largest of its kind in the United States, will showcase more than 80 skulls, skeletons, individual bones, teeth, and claws from the Devonian Period through the Ice Age. The collection also contains specimens from Trilobites as well as a plethora of unique dinosaur parts.

"The only things that should be scary about Halloween are fictional goons, goblins, and monsters," said Dinosaur George Blasing. "The exhibit is a safe environment to mix Halloween fun with interactive learning."

In addition to the Boys & Girls Club party, all parents and children are encouraged to visit the exhibit to trick-or-treat, view the artifacts, and listen to an interactive presentation from Dinosaur George. At regular intervals, children may enter a contest for "Best Costume" and win a Dinosaur George compilation of DVDs and comic books.

Patrons who explore the artifacts will witness, among other things, a skull of Giganotosaurus, the largest known predator in the world; the skull of "Stan," the third largest T-rex ever discovered; a juvenile Mamenchisaurus from China, the dinosaur species with the longest neck ever; and skeleton of Stegosaurus, one of the rarest dinosaurs on earth.

The Dinosaur George exhibit will be on display at the convention center from October 31 through November 4 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at http://www.prehistoricadventures.com/ or onsite: prices range between ($8 and $12).
